Mizgorski Announces $150,887 in State Funding for 30th District Fire and Ambulance Companies
HARRISBURG – Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) announced that 13 volunteer fire and ambulance companies throughout the 30th District have qualified to receive $150,887 from a grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

“This is wonderful news for our district,” said Mizgorski. “We are fortunate to have so many individuals willing to train and volunteer their time to provide emergency services throughout our communities. I am pleased that the state can help support our volunteer fire and EMS organizations.”

All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue. Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.

Following is a list of the recipients and the amount of their grant awards:

• Bauerstown Volunteer Fire Department, $13,152.60.
• Elfinwild Volunteer Fire Company, $13,015.67.
• Fox Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, $13,837.24.
• Foxwall Emergency Medical Service, $9,140.05.
• Hampton Township Volunteer Fire Department 1, $12,194.10.
• North Hampton Township Volunteer Fire Department, $13,426.46.
• Parkview Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, $9,192.44.
• Parkview Volunteer Fire Department, Fire Company, $12,057.17.
• Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company, $11,509.46.
• Richland EMS Inc., $9,192.44.
• Shaler Hampton EMS Inc., $8,413.12.
• Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department, $12,192.10.
• Undercliff Volunteer Fire Company, $13,563.39.

In addition to these recipients within the 30th legislative district, Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company has qualified to receive $12,878.74.
