Mizgorski Announces $187,000 Grant to Improve Deer Creek in Richland Township
GIBSONIA – To improve the West Bank of Deer Creek in Richland Township, Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) advocated for a $187,000 grant that was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The funding will provide additional healthy living activities for visitors to the park.

“I was happy to help secure this funding for Richland Township,” said Mizgorski. “This funding will help restore and protect the streambank of Deer Creek.”

The funding will be used to help complete a streambank restoration and protection project along the West Branch of Deer Creek using 1,300 square yards of high performance turf reinforcement matting, native tree plantings and other re-vegetation to restore and protect the currently eroded streambank.

The total project cost is $220,000.

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth and holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
