ALLISON PARK – Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) announced today she will be hosting a joint glass recycling collection event with Hampton Township in June.

Residents will have the opportunity to drop off glass they wish to recycle at the swimming pool parking lot at the Hampton Township Community Park, 3101 McCully Road, Allison Park. The recycling bin, provided by the Pennsylvania Resource Council, will be available for residents from Saturday, June 6 until Thursday, June 11. The bin will be removed on Friday, June 12.

“We have been planning this event for several months with Hampton Township and now that Allegheny County will be moving into the yellow phase of reopening on Friday, May 15, I am pleased that we are able to provide this service,” said Mizgorski. “This will be a great opportunity for our residents to safely and responsibly recycle their glass.”

Residents can place their glass in the bin between 6 a.m. and sundown. Clear and colored glass bottles, jars and jugs will only be accepted. Caps, lids and labels are acceptable, and all containers must be rinsed clean prior to recycling. Window glass, drinking glasses/stemware, dishware, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs, TVs and all other materials including other recyclables will not be accepted. The bin will be monitored remotely.

Residents can check Mizgorski’s website, www.RepMizgorski.com, for event updates.
